Tippet Medal Application

Change to Eligibility Criteria
At the Board of Trustees Meeting on the 29th of July 2021 the eligibility criteria for receiving the Tippet Medals were an agenda item. Prior to the Board, Trustees were circulated an eligibility options paper to enable an in-depth discussion. After discussion and unanimous agreement, the decision was to change the eligibility criteria:
If you had service as a Regular QARANC Officer when the Tippet Medal was part of your dress, then you may apply to receive a medal.
It should be noted that there is no length of service requirement and that the medal ceased to be issued in 2006.
Entitled individuals are to write to the Office Manager – Sarah Young – requesting consideration and enclose with the application:
Proof of regular commissioned service as a Nursing Officer.
A cheque for £10.00 made payable to the QARANC Association to cover postage and packing.
Once an application has been verified as meeting the eligibility criteria of regular commissioned service the Office Manager will randomly select one of the sealed medals (the Office Manager has no knowledge of age, condition, or value of the packed medal) in a jiffy bag and the medal will be posted ‘next day delivery-to be signed for’. Medals are not to be collected from the Regimental Office.
The opening date for applications will be the 1st of January 2022 and close the last day of February 2022.
Demand is expected to be high, and should the applications outnumber the available medals a ballot will be conducted at the beginning of March 2022. Medals for successful applicants will be posted from the second week of March.
Unsuccessful applicants will have their cheques returned.
