Association Events

This year's commemoration of the outbreak of the 1914-18 War will feature the beginning of a 5 year cultural programme: 1418-NOW. We would like to invite members of the QARANC Association to participate in Letter To An Unknown Soldier, which is the ​​major project of 1418-NOW this summer.

The following services honour those who have given their life in service of their country. Association members welcomed.

Members of the Corps (Regular, Reserve and Association) gathered outside Number 47 Markham Square, Chelsea, London SW3 on Tuesday 23 June 2014 for the unveiling of a Blue Plaque to honour Dame Emma Maud McCarthy, Matron-in-Chief of the QAIMNS on the Western Front during the Great War. The plaque was unveiled by Col David Bates, ARRC, current DANS, and there were short speeches from Ronald Hutton, Chair of English Heritage Blue Plaques Panel and Professor Christine Hallett, Director of the Centre for Nursing History, University of Manchester.

A Career in Army Nursing


The QARANC employs Officers and Soldiers in both the Regular and Reserve Army, as Registered Nurses, Student Nurses, and Health Care Assistants, and we are always looking for people. If you are interested in a career as a Nurse or Health Care Assistant which also offers other great opportunities then you are just the person we are looking for. A career in the QARANC is more than a job, you will have access to extensive training and development opportunities, not just related to your job, but personal development too. You will have the opportunity to use your skills in diverse settings – wherever the Army is employed health care professionals from the QARANC are there.
