QARANC Corps Day 2022

This year QARANC Corps Day was celebrated at The Royal Hospital Chelsea on Sunday 27 March.

With it also being Mothering Sunday the service at the stunning Wren Chapel drew inevitable comparisons between mothers and the qualities nurses are revered for (compassionate, protective, fighting for patients) and of course many of our attendees ticked both boxes.

The worship, led by Chaplain Paul Cowley, celebrated the service given by QAs on numerous battlefronts and in peacetime. The current, desperate situation in Ukraine was also uppermost in the minds of those gathered. There were many uplifting moments as the choir led the congregation in song and veteran QA, Terri Pitts, was baptised – an emotional occasion for her and friends.

After the service all guests posed for photos and moved indoors to the State Apartments for a buffet reception and a chance to catch up with old friends and colleagues.
The service was live streamed and is still available to view HERE

Corps Day was also celebrated at other locations throughout the UK and abroad and you can see our full gallery HERE.
