Greetings from Newcastle Branch!

We are a small but friendly and inclusive group of QAs with our main base being in the wonderful city of Newcastle.  However, we cover a wide geographical area, having members as far afield as York, Cumbria and North Northumberland.
A fun-loving group of QA's who have bonded through our unique connection, with many of us being part of 201 Fd Hospital, we are made up of Regulars, Reservists, Serving and Retired members.
We enjoy meeting up for talks, walks, having a laugh, a meal, a drink, but more importantly, appreciating the company of great friends.
Our main event is our annual Christmas Dinner organised with our fellow RAMC Association Northumbria Branch.  This is always well-attended and greatly looked forward to.  Due to lockdown, this event was moved several times, finally turning into a Summer Ball which was eventually held on 9th July!  Undeterred that we weren’t allowed dancing we thoroughly enjoyed the chance to meet old friends and new. All being well we will be back to our usual timings and our Christmas event is already booked for Friday 3 December.
A Battlefield Tour has also been postponed twice by the Covid 19 restrictions, but we are hopeful for 2022.  Not to be defeated we decided to have a staycation by organising a Battlefield Tour of Scotland instead to be held 6-10 October 2021.  There are still a few places available so please get in touch if you are interested!
More recently, we have made more of an effort to join the Veterans Breakfast Club, which is held at the Corner House pub in Heaton on a Saturday morning. The Landlord makes us all so welcome and there is a wide choice on the breakfast menu (the Full English is definitely recommended!).  Tea and coffee are provided for a £1 donation for as many as you want and that collection goes to Macmillan Nurses.  He also opens at 10 am just for our group. The Veterans Breakfast Committee have decided to extend the event and to hold a Christmas Dinner on 4 December at the Corner House.  If you are interested please get in touch and we will pass on the details.
Despite the restrictions Covid-19 has brought us we are growing!  We have welcomed 3 new members this year already and have had enquiries from 2 more.  We encourage any QA's to come and meet us. Our next get-together is 11th September, which is our AGM.  We are having a welcome back curry lunch and would love to have some new potential members join us on the day.  Do get in touch for more information.
