Col Paul Michael Jackson KHN

White BackgroundCol Jackson joined the Army in 1988 as a soldier completing his Registered General Nurse training in 1992. He served in a variety of military hospitals in the UK and Germany including a tour of Bosnia and Belize until commissioning in 1997 where he initially worked in RN Hospital Haslar as ward manager until 2003. He has since served at A Sqn, 1 Close Support Medical Regiment as training officer deploying on Op TELIC 1 with DS 1A. Following this he returned to the UK and served at 2nd Medical Brigade as SO3 individual mobilisation where he was promoted to Major.

Following assignments as Regular Nursing Officer at 208 Field Hospital and ICSC (L) he returned to 2nd Medical Brigade as SO2 G5/7 prior to becoming Officer Commanding 16 Sqn, 3 Medical Regiment, deploying on Op HERRICK 12. He then worked at JFHQ as SO2 Med prior to a short stint at 4 Medical Regiment as 2IC where he was promoted.

Col Jackson served as SO1 Medical Capability Development in Army HQ, where he worked on projects such as HAPTIC and Future Protected Battlefield Ambulance prior to becoming Commanding Officer 5 Armoured Medical Regiment in 2015. Following his command, he worked at Army HQ in the ADOC/LOC as SO1 Med until his promotion to Col, where he was assigned to DPHC as AH J3/5 and 7 for Defence Primary Health Care in Lichfield prior to his current assignment as Commanding Officer 212 (Yorkshire) Field Hospital.

He was appointed Chief Nursing Officer (Army) in November 22.

A keen sportsman he is President of AMS Football and Chair of the AMS Men’s team and still plays football. He will also try his hand at most other sports.

He lives with his wife Nicola and 3 year old daughter Autumn in York. He also has a 22 year old son George and a 25 year old daughter Emily.
